Medical Interventions- Cochlear Implant Debate
Over the past couple of weeks we have been doing a segment on hearing and how it can be lost. We have been assigned new partners as usual and have began to look at some of the hearing problems in the world as well as tools to help determine the problem. A tuning fork is a very important tool to have in an experiment determining if the person has trouble hearing or not. After that, we tested our own hearing and how well we heard. The next week we started researching about a cochlear implant, which is a device in which a person who cannot hear, can hear again. We were assigned to debate about it, being for or against, then having a debate in the classroom about some of the facts. I was against. We seemed to be very strong on our topic, but so was the other team. Overall it was fun, and I can't wait to see what we are doing next week.
